Do You See What I Hear?

Do You See What I Hear? Or is It Do You Hear What I See?

Good Morning to all my creative friends..Soon to be friends. I started a Graphic Design course a few weeks ago and would like to share a few things I have learned. I have learned that colors have feelings; should I  say they give us feelings and emotions? I really never even thought that far into this until this class started. Not only that, but the way they are laid out on a page or document can draw your eyes in the direction the designer wants you to, so the most important message is that I got the first week of class is to get the positioning of the message where it needs to be to make the most important things noticeable.

I was also asked to do a creative project..This was a creative way to hear and see more of what we watch. I made this up myself so if it gets confusing, please give me some input to make it doable.

Grab A Clip From A Movie You Have Never Seen!

1. Watch the clip without any sound.

2. Write down as many noises (voices, background, any) you think there might be.

3. Then watch the clip with the sound on. (also Make A List of Things You Here)

After doing this, compare the two lists.

WHAT DID YOU NOT HEAR THE FIRST TIME?

WHAT DID YOU NOT SEE THE FIRST TIME?

This exercise brought a broader perspective in the work it takes to make a creative movie, video, clip or whatever. I know this is a little off the beaten path of what I learned in class but I think with a little input we can make this project bring a more creative designer out of all of us.

Thanks for listening..hope it helps somehow..
